Moulin Roty toys are instantly recognisable for their whimsical designs, imaginative characters, and meticulous attention to detail. From the charming animal circus characters on a spinning top to the tiny pinstripes on a fox’s trousers, every product tells a story of creativity and craftsmanship. But there’s more to Moulin Roty than beautiful toys—it’s a brand with a fascinating journey rooted in community and purpose.
The story of Moulin Roty began in 1972 in a small communal village in western France. A group of friends, driven by a vision for a more meaningful and healthier way of life, purchased a crumbling old mill and set about transforming it into a vibrant communal and creative hub. Here, amidst the scenic countryside, they began crafting items by hand, building a life that blended art and community.
Success soon followed, but in 1988, a devastating fire destroyed their original workshop, forcing them to relocate and rebuild in nearby Nort-sur-Erdre. Despite the setback, their commitment to craftsmanship and community remained steadfast.
Today, Moulin Roty continues to embody the magic of traditional toys, honouring the spirit of its founders with products crafted from high-quality, non-toxic materials. Their wooden toys are made from sustainably managed forests, offering an enchanting, eco-friendly alternative to mass-produced plastic toys.
With over 50 years of history, Moulin Roty remains a treasure trove of imaginative play, crafting toys filled with charm, nostalgia and timeless quality – a perfect blend of past and present, crafted for today’s children and cherished for generations to come.
